"Hi! My name is Camila (she/her) and I love helping youth and adults create legacies rooted in community, courage and authenticity.

Since graduating with a B.A. in Chicana/o Studies and International Development Studies from UCLA in 2014, I have worked in college advising, writing coaching and youth mentorship in schools, non-profits and private consulting. I have successfully coached dozens of undergraduate, graduate and professional school applicants to gain admissions to diverse universities across the U.S. and receive millions of dollars in scholarship funds. I have written myself into prestigious and highly competitive programs including a Fulbright Fellowship in Italy, a creative writing scholarship at UCLA Extension and a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship (PPIA) at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School.

My favorite part of working with students is witnessing the surprises that come along during the essay writing process: the stories that get unearthed, the reflections that come to the surface and the words that satisfy students’ self expression. My approach to writing coaching is simple: the most memorable essays are the ones that tell the truth.

Born and raised in a low income single parent household in Los Angeles, I am committed to liberatory community organizing efforts and never shy away from cheering on local sports teams. When I am not doing admissions coaching or watching WNBA games, I spend time in the local Santa Monica mountains with my family, eat Mid City LA tacos with my friends and devours good reads for one of my book clubs." less...
