"At age 16, I graduated magna cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University with a major in computer science and a minor in business. I now hold a masters degree in Quantum Information Science from the University of Southern California.
I was homeschooled until age 11, when I was able to enroll in Running Start, a program here in Washington State that allows high school students to take college courses (dual enrollment). I began at University at age 13, graduated at 16, took a gap year, then started grad school at USC at 17, graduating from the MSQIS program at 19.
Along the way, I have tutored students from middle school to college level in linear algebra, discrete math, and calculus. I am most proficient in advanced linear algebra, but I also am very capable in subjects such as microeconomics, python, Java, AI, machine learning, chemistry and physics.
I am seeking supplemental income through tutoring and felt Wyant would be a great fit. I have used Wyzant myself as I navigated through my undergrad. I found it to be a valuable tool. I hope now to be able to help others on their academic paths.
I am very patient tutor and I can recognize strengths in a student that I can lean on to help them to understand the material. I have a knack for simplifying advanced concepts and building confidence in those students who may be less analytical. I am a clear communicator, friendly, and motivational. I have also won awards for public speaking.
I am professional and ethical and I believe that students, even through a tutor, need role models for behavior. Parents deserve to know that the tutor they hire to spend time with their child is a positive influence.
