"Hello, and welcome! I’m Jocelyn, a 2023 Brown graduate with a degree in Biophysics. I've tutored high school and college students one-on-one for the past 8 years in math (up to calculus III/multivariable), AP physics, and SAT/ACT test preparation. I'm intensely familiar with the AP curricula for calculus and physics (I, II, and C) – and I’m here to make sure that you’re as prepared as possible for these challenging classes and exams.

I am an experienced essay reader and critic, having volunteered as a mentor for high school students writing personal statements since 2022 – I know what makes a personal essay a success. I can offer advice at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to creating outlines to polishing the final product, and anything in between.

My teaching style emphasizes personalization and the building strong foundations in every subject. For knowledge to stick, it’s important to go beyond rote memorization and to understand why a formula works and why it’s useful. I'm also a big proponent of hands-on learning: students will be solving problems or writing paragraphs and receiving detailed feedback in real-time. That said, students should rest assured – whether you learn best through visuals, lectures, or by doing, our classes will use the method that suits you best.
