"Hello! My name is Nick and I am a professional engineer at a space company with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. I tutor students in algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and physics. My curriculum at Texas A&M included advanced mathematics (Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations), physics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural analysis. My engineering career requires me to apply these subjects every day, and I enjoy helping students understand the concepts behind the math and how those ideas are used in real-world problem solving
While I am new to formal tutoring, I have experience (2 years) explaining technical and mathematical concepts to colleagues, younger engineers, and interns in a professional setting. I like to break down topics into simple steps that are easy to understand and remember. These experiences have strengthened my ability to teach clearly, patiently, and effectively, even to students who may feel intimidated by more complex concepts.
I want your student to get the most out of our sessions so I welcome any resources you wish to provide. I can assist with coursework and identify areas that need more practice or explanation. I specialize in making study guides that are simple, concise, and easy to review. That is the best way (to me) to break complex topics down into a series of simple building blocks. Every student is different though and I am happy to work with your student to find the most effective way to make them successful. As a working aerospace engineer, I also enjoy answering questions about different career paths, day-to-day industry work, internships, and what to expect in a STEM degree program." less...
