"Hello, my name is Patty H. and my background is in both elementary education and special education. I have been substitute teaching in the public school system for over 20 years and want to help students who have been struggling with their learning during the Covid pandemic.

Even though my background and degree is in grades K-6, I have experience working with all students, K-12. Reading, writing, and reading comprehension are my favorite subjects to teach but I am also here to help with homework, study strategies, grammar, math, and other subject areas. Currently, I am using the Barton Reading and Spelling Program which is Orton Gillingham based and even though it was developed specifically for kids with dyslexia, it helps all struggling readers and spellers. In addition, I am using the Foundation in Sounds Program with students that weren't able to pass the Barton Student Screening.
