"I grew up in a family of teachers and became one myself. I taught middle school math with the mindset of preparing them for high school math. I love helping students who struggle and finding ways to help them understand what they couldn't understand before. I have tutored a variety of different students and most of them say, 'I understand you when you teach me math.' I love tutoring because there is more one on one interaction with students to get to know them and their mind and to try to reach them where they are at and help them excel!

I tutored through a local company a few years ago and have seen all of my students' grades improve. Some have been as drastic as a low failing grade to a B. By the end of the year, my students have told me that they feel more confident in math now and wish that I could be their teacher! I have tutored several students through Wyzant as well. It has been a joy working with them and seeing them improve.

I don't teach just one method. I teach a variety trying to help the student learn and master the one they understand best. There is no one correct way of learning math. The goal is always to get the correct answer. There is the teacher's way of doing it; there is the parent's way of doing it; and there may be other ways of doing it that may make the most sense to the student. My goal is to find the best way for that individual student.

I graduated from Bob Jones University in Math Education. I have taught 6th Grade Math, 7th Grade Math, PreAlgebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Statistics. As a result of teaching a wide variety of classes, I can tutor with the mindset of preparing them for what they will need to know in the future.
