"During my time as a tutor, I have developed a strong foundation in both engineering and mathematics education through over three years of tutoring experience with the University of West Florida. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UWF and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Engineering at the same institution. My academic background allows me to explain complex technical concepts in a way that connects theory with practical application, which has proven valuable for students working through challenging engineering and mathematics courses.
At UWF, I served as a tutor for Calculus I, II, and III, as well as for Dynamics, Machine Design, Engineering Statistics, and Fluid Dynamics. Most of my tutoring was conducted in group settings, where I learned to manage multiple students at different skill levels while maintaining an interactive and supportive environment. During the shift to online learning, I gained valuable experience tutoring through virtual platforms, adapting my teaching methods to ensure clarity and engagement even in a remote format. I emphasize a conceptual understanding of material before diving into problem-solving, as I believe this approach builds confidence and long-term retention.
In addition to my university work, I have provided private tutoring for high school students, primarily in algebra and related math subjects. These one-on-one sessions have allowed me to tailor my teaching style to each student’s individual needs and learning pace. Whether helping a college student grasp the fundamentals of fluid mechanics or guiding a high school student through algebraic problem-solving, my goal is always to help students build confidence, independence, and a genuine interest in learning." less...
