"Hello y'all, my name is Janel! My only goal in this life time is to revolutionize education through the means of hip-hop education. I began my college journey at El Camino community college. I was not the best student nor did I have an counselor who guided me to college. Where I grew up, college was not promoted. I later transferred to CSUDH where I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Human Services. Through my undergraduate career I worked with students in juvenile halls. Here I helped them come up with an educational plans.

After graduating CSUDH, I applied to my Masters of Education at USC and got in! I recently graduated and now work at a university helping students with their college application, providing a safe space for them, and also continuing to make sure that as an educator, my students are felt, seen, and heard.
