"I am a certified math teacher with over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring students at the high school level. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from The University of Alabama and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Mathematics Education at Western Governors University. In addition, I hold a Gifted Certification and an Online Learning Endorsement, which allow me to meet the needs of diverse learners and support students in both traditional and virtual settings.
Since 2013, I have taught every high school math course, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and AP Calculus (College Board certified). My teaching experience includes working in the classroom as well as in a fully virtual environment, which has given me the opportunity to adapt lessons to fit both one-on-one and group settings. Over the years, I have worked with students of varying abilities and backgrounds, including those in advanced courses and those who needed extra support to build confidence in math.
My approach to tutoring focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps that students can grasp and apply. I believe in meeting learners where they are, identifying gaps, and building a solid foundation that allows them to grow. With my background in computer science, I also bring an analytical perspective to problem-solving, helping students not only master math but also develop critical thinking skills. My goal is always to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students can gain both the skills and the confidence they need to succeed in mathematics." less...
