"I am an experienced AP and IB Chinese tutor specializing in reading, writing, and exam preparation. I help students build strong language skills, confidence, and clear strategies for academic success. I also work with elementary and heritage learners to develop a solid foundation in Mandarin.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Language and Culture University and a master’s degree in Linguistics (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) from Beijing Normal University. I have taught Chinese in both China and the United States, including AP and IB Chinese at the high school level.

My instruction focuses on reading comprehension, writing (including email responses and essays), speaking, and cultural understanding. I tailor lessons to each student’s level and learning goals, helping them improve accuracy, fluency, and exam performance.

I also work extensively with elementary students and heritage learners, supporting vocabulary development, sentence structure, reading fluency, and accurate pronunciation. In addition, I participated in the development of the Rosetta Stone Mandarin Chinese Picture Dictionary (Simplified) as a Chinese language consultant, translator, and content contributor. My work included translating and editing entries, creating engaging example stories, and calibrating standard Mandarin pronunciation. This bilingual picture dictionary is available on Amazon and is widely used by students and educators.
