"Over 25 years of teaching high school, the most rewarding parts of my day are when I get students excited about my subject area and when I can connect with a student and help them work through their obstacles to learning. With large class sizes, it has been more challenging to find that time to work individually with students so I particularly enjoy the the personal attention that tutoring can provide.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from St. Olaf in 1999. My degree was in Social Studies Education, but I also completed additional history classes and a minor in Women's Studies. I have taught HS since 2000 and began teaching AP World History in 2006. I have scored AP exams and served as a Table Leader and Question Leader for the AP World Reading since 2012. In addition, I've taught AP Human Geography for 7 years with excellent scores earned by my students. My experience with the AP Reading helps me give focused feedback to students to improve their writing and earn rubric points on the exams.

I am currently teaching full time (AP World, AP Human Geography) so my availability is evenings and weekends, preferably online. I'm open to working with students for one-time, short and longer-term commitments, whichever is best to meet your goals and needs." less...
