"Hi, I'm Megan! I am an aquatic animal veterinarian, currently conducting marine mammal research and pursuing additional specialty training at the University of Florida. I love teaching and mentoring students of all ages, and I strive to make learning as fun and interesting as possible, regardless of the subject matter. I have strong teaching experience, including tutoring elementary through high school students, teaching online and in-person marine conservation and fish identification courses, and working as a teaching assistant at the graduate student level.

Some fun facts about me...I have considerable international travel experience, including rainforest conservation in Costa Rica, public health research in rural Ghana, veterinary surgical training in Nicaragua, and expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. I am also a trained divemaster and have led SCUBA trips with a focus on marine conservation and citizen science. I hope to inspire students to pursue their dreams, no matter how bold, and strive to be lifelong learners.

As a veterinarian, I have extensive knowledge in animal behavior, anatomy, physiology, and classification. I have also studied conservation and ecosystem health for both terrestrial and aquatic environments.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to develop strong writing skills across a variety of genres, including research papers, scientific protocols, and research grants. I have also taken courses in critical scientific reading and scientific writing. Additionally, I have tutored students in grammar and writing from the elementary school through college level. I am a self-proclaimed grammar geek, and I will help you perfect your composition and test-taking skills.
