"Hi! I’m Ashlyn, a K–2 self-contained special education teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and over four years of hands-on experience supporting autistic, ADHD, and struggling learners. I currently teach in a public school classroom where I use ABA-informed strategies, visual supports, and data-driven instruction to help students make real progress in reading, math, behavior, and independence.
I specialize in working with students who need extra structure, patience, and individualized teaching. This includes autistic students, children with ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional or behavioral challenges, and students who have IEPs or are falling behind academically. I regularly work with phonics, early reading, writing, basic math, and executive functioning skills like attention, organization, and task completion.
My teaching style is calm, supportive, and very structured. I break skills down into small, manageable steps, use visuals and reinforcement to keep students motivated, and adjust my teaching based on what each child needs in the moment. If your child shuts down easily, avoids work, or struggles with focus, I am very experienced in helping them feel safe, capable, and successful.
I believe tutoring should be encouraging, not stressful. My goal is to help your child build both skills and confidence so they can succeed at school and feel proud of their progress. I am happy to work with parents, teachers, or IEP teams to support your child’s goals.
If you’re looking for a tutor who truly understands neurodivergent learners and knows how to get results, I would love to work with your family." less...
