"As I prepare for medical school, I’m excited to continue engaging in meaningful educational work— something that has shaped much of my personal and professional life. I’ve always been a disciplined and motivated learner, a quality that was especially tested when I studied for the MCAT while working full-time in a demanding role. Despite being five years removed from my undergraduate studies, I earned a 516 on the exam through consistent, focused effort. That experience reaffirmed not only my academic abilities but also my commitment to growth and perseverance—qualities I now aim to help instill in others through teaching and mentorship.

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a 4.0 GPA and had the opportunity to contribute to a research publication during my time there. My academic background provided a strong foundation in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving—skills that have consistently shaped how I approach working with students. Following graduation, I spent five years with FOCUS, a nonprofit college ministry that focuses on mentorship and spiritual development on campuses across the country. In that role, I worked closely with students in both one-on-one and group settings, helping them navigate academic, personal, and spiritual challenges. This experience deepened my ability to teach, listen, and lead with empathy.

Throughout my time with FOCUS and beyond, I’ve supported students of varying ages and educational backgrounds.
