"I am an astronomy instructor at The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Astronomy & Astrophysics, where I currently teach Astro 001. I love teaching astronomy, but I am also willing to help with any math or physics questions you may have. I have been tutoring astronomy since 2019.
Penn State University (PSU) is ranked as the third-best school in the United States for its astronomy and astrophysics department according to the National Research Council. In my education, I have covered a wide range of astronomical topics, including: Sky & Planetarium, Astronomical Methods and the Solar System, Astronomy of the Distant Universe, Observational Astronomy, Computational Astrophysics, Planets and Planetary System Formation, Astronomical Tools and Techniques, and Cosmology. I also have 3 years of experience explaining astronomical topics to both students (K-12 and undergraduates) and the general public as the assistant director of the Yahn Planetarium at Penn State Behrend. I built my own observatory at a dark sky location where I use my Celestron Edge HD 800 SCT telescope to do deep-sky astrophotography, and yes, I do teach astrophotography!
My tutoring style aims to maximize students' understanding of the topics covered in their classes by going over examples at a pace that is tailored to their current understanding of the subject. I will ensure that the student fully comprehends what we are covering in the sessions, and I will include ancillary examples whenever either the student or I deem it necessary. I will strive to make the session as enjoyable and productive as possible for the given subject material. I am also open to any suggestions you may have to help improve your learning. I look forward to tutoring you!" less...
