"I am a Professor of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College and Columbia University, with a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Operations Research from Columbia University. I also served as a Research Scientist at New York University. Over the past 22+ years, I have taught and tutored high school, undergraduate, graduate, and professional learners in mathematics, engineering, statistics, operations research, and analytical problem-solving—both one-on-one and in classroom settings.
My teaching philosophy is simple but powerful: clarity builds confidence, and confidence unlocks performance. I focus on helping students deeply understand concepts rather than memorize procedures. Whether preparing for exams, mastering difficult coursework, or building long-term academic strength, I tailor each session to the student’s background, goals, and learning style. My students consistently earn top grades, gain admission to leading U.S. and international universities, and—most importantly—develop the ability to think independently and solve complex problems.
I am the youngest recipient in history of Merrimack College’s most prestigious teaching honor, the Edward G. Roddy Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award, and a recipient of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Faculty Fellowship and the Zampell Family Faculty Fellowship. During my doctoral studies, I was nominated twice for the Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching by Graduate Students. My doctoral GPA was 4.03/4.0, and I earned a perfect GRE Quantitative score (800/800).
Beyond academia, I bring real-world perspective from industry and government. I previously worked as a project developer at a major international engineering consulting firm on World Bank-funded infrastructure projects, and as a consultant to the NYC Department of Design and Construction, where I helped develop project management guidelines for a $15 billion public portfolio and trained over 120 project managers." less...
