"After graduating from the University of Chicago with three majors (Economics, Public Policy Studies, and Political Science) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School with a JD (where I competed on the national trial team), I practiced law for several years before jumping into a full-time photography and journalism career. For the last decade, I have written and photographed award-winning, interdisciplinary (conservation, history, science, etc) stories for national and international outlets.

From 2005 to 2007, I taught eighth grade math as a Teach for America corps member and discovered a love of teaching that I have carried and nurtured ever since. Over the last 20 years, I have taught teenagers and adults in classroom and non-classroom settings. I've taught constitutional law to high school students, storytelling to future lawyers, and photography and writing to a wide variety of students both in the field and in the classroom. I regularly serve on faculty at conferences, and teach photography and writing workshops. In addition, I consult with photographers and writers one-on-one to help them develop their skills and present their work.

As an editor, I have worked with writers and photographers to develop and deliver award-winning stories that have received recognition alongside stories from top-tier publications such as the The New York Times, Smithsonian, and National Geographic.

I also have extensive public speaking experience, beginning in high school, where I competed at the state level. In law school, I competed on my school's national trial team, and went on to become a trial attorney who spent most of work day appearing in federal court.

My experience is varied, but regardless of the subject, my goal as a tutor is to help my students identify their own goals and then create a plan and work with them to achieve their aims.
