I have always had a passion for teaching and tutoring, but I’ve also been on the other side as a student and forever learner. I know how hard it can be to keep up with school work, actual work, and expectations.

You can count on me to be a compassionate, dependable, and knowledgeable friend to help you through the more difficult material life (and your teachers) throw at you through student-centered and individualized learning.

I am a licensed Biology and science teacher with 2+ years experience working with children and young adults ages 11-20. I received my Bachelors in Evolutionary and Ecological Biology and a minor in Education from the University of Tennessee of Knoxville, graduating cum laude. During that time, I had internships at several schools and worked with students at various age and learning levels, as well as tutoring freshmen and individual students through the Academic Success Center. When I graduated, I completed the PRAXIS exam in science, certifying me to teach science for levels 6-12.

I believe that education is life long, therefore, it should be enjoyable! Learning can be fun and engaging, but I understand that it is often difficult in a regular classroom. By working with students one-on-one, we can specialize learning for each student and have more opportunities to deepen the understanding of the material with real-world, individualized examples. I employ a multi-branch teaching model consisting of cognitive learning, active engagement, and personal growth of the student.
