"I have worked in education for over 13 years, with the bulk of my experience involving a behaviorally and emotionally disturbed student population. I work predominately with high school age students, most with histories of significant trauma and criminal activity, but have experience with younger clientele. I am certified as both a secondary social studies teacher, as well as a teacher of special education in the state of New Jersey. I hold a masters degree in educational leadership and am certified as a school supervisor in this state.

I truly believe that the area in which most educators fail involves student engagement. Working with a challenging population throughout my career, I have found that engagement and student interest have been the most vital aspects of my success in the classroom, and as a school leader. I am a believer, and look to inspire my students to achieve more than they ever believed themselves capable of.

I have taught high school level biology and environment science to a behavioral class of high school aged students. I will bring the same level of care and patience to this student population.

The entirety of my 13-year career has been spent working with special needs students, whether that be those children on the autism spectrum, or those who exhibit behavioral disabilities. I am trained in multiple forms of restraint, de-escalation, and crisis management. My experiences have provided me the tools and skills necessary to work with the most challenging populations in both the state of New Jersey, and the country.

aside from my love of history, I hold a bachelors degree from Rutgers college in both history and political science. I have taught social studies in the special education setting for eight years, and find that it is my true love.
