"Hey, I'm David! I graduated from UC Berkeley with a Computer Science degree and have a decade-long career spanning FinTech, AI, Social Media, Crypto, and Automotive sectors. Throughout my academic journey, working with professors and mentors who brought the theoretical class material to life in concrete and practical terms had the biggest impact on my future. They not only helped me understand course content, but also solidified a framework for learning, approaching problems, and translating knowledge to real results.

My experience with these individuals informed the core tenants of my teaching philosophy: meet students where they are, contextualize the material with the "why", and teach them how to learn. I have 3 years experience tutoring inner city middle school students in math and science. These students varied in their goals ranging from grasping the material better to being challenged in preparation for entry into elite high schools. More recently, I have run university recruitment programs, designed software engineering internships, and created new hire onboarding plans. In these roles, I have worked with top university students to ensure their success. This includes understanding their knowledge, implementing education plans that utilizes their strengths and allows for learning in areas of growth, and setting goals with clear steps and expectations.

Teaching, for me, is more than just relaying knowledge. It's about sparking curiosity, guiding through challenges, and ensuring comprehension at every step. I aim for my students not only to grasp theoretical knowledge and understand its real-world applications throughout their coursework, but also to feel confidently prepared to enter the industry. I am incredibly passionate about software engineering and serving as a resource I wished I had early in my academic and professional pursuits.
