"I have 32 years of teaching experience. I have taught Spanish to Kindergarten through adult levels. I have always taught, whether whole class groups or single students, as this is very fulfilling work for me, and what I am best at. It's important for me to see the light of understanding dawn on the faces of my students. I began with middle and high school, and then for 22 years I taught elementary school. Most recently, I have been teaching elementary Spanish part-time at an Episcopal School. Although English was my first language, my background in a Spanish-speaking community in New Mexico helped me gain near-native fluency. (Native speakers on the phone regularly think I am a native speaker.) I am also an excellent teacher of the core elementary subjects, in particular English grammar and reading. Having done this as a teacher of ESL Bilingual Education from the most basic phonics through ninth grade English grammar, reading, and writing.
