Got my B.A. and M.A. in English both from top Chinese colleges (Sun Yat-Sen University and Peking University).

Came to the United States 4 years ago (2021) for PhD studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

Quit PhD after 4 years (but did get another M.A.!) and became a middle and high school English teacher in St. Louis.

Had to quit teaching job after 1 year because work permit was expiring.

Have just obtained a new work permit, but as the new school year has already started it's hard for me to find another teaching job. So, I'm here!

My teaching experience:

1 year of teaching middle and high school English (student age 13-18) (American students) (secondary school small classroom setting; 6-13 students in a classroom)

1 year of teaching College Writing (student age: 18-19) (American students) (Higher-ed small classroom setting; 13-14 students in a class)

1 year of teaching TOEFL and TOEFL Junior (student age: 14-18) (Chinese students) (one-on-one or in a small classroom of up to 3 students)

1-1.5 years all combined of Chinese tutoring: tutored a Korean professor and a French student (both intermediary level and using a textbook; each for one semester); taught 11 UCLA students beginner-level Chinese for 2 months (1 hour per week; classroom setting)
