"I have a strong academic and research background in the biological and chemical sciences, along with extensive experience explaining complex scientific concepts in clear, approachable ways.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco, where I completed advanced coursework in general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and related laboratory courses. I am currently employed as a research assistant in an academic laboratory setting, where I work daily with molecular biology techniques and data analysis. This ongoing research experience allows me to connect foundational coursework to real-world scientific applications, which students often find helpful when preparing for exams or understanding difficult material.
In addition to my research experience, I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience at the undergraduate level. I have served as a teaching assistant and instructor for undergraduate science courses, where I led discussion sections, answered student questions, and provided one-on-one academic support outside of class. Much of this work involved helping students prepare for exams, understand problem-solving strategies, and build confidence in subjects such as general chemistry, organic chemistry, and introductory biology.
My tutoring approach emphasizes step-by-step problem solving, active questioning, and adapting explanations to each student’s learning style. I have worked primarily with high school and college-aged students in both one-on-one and small group settings, including classroom-based instruction and individualized tutoring. I focus on helping students not only complete assignments, but also understand the underlying concepts so they can succeed independently on exams.
Overall, my academic training, research experience, and hands-on teaching background make me well-qualified to tutor chemistry and biology at the high school and undergraduate levels." less...
