"Hello all, I attended University of Delaware and have a Biology BA degree and minors in computer science and bioinformatics. Teaching played a large role in my university career. I spent 3 years teaching the freshman year Chemistry workshop, 2 years as the lead tutor for the biology and chemistry tutoring center, and 1 year as an upper-level genetics TA.

Tutoring has been fundamental to me as a way of cementing my own learning and improving the educational experience of other students. I greatly enjoy working with students to conquer topics that were troubling them and building a rapport.

I've taken a fair variety of general science courses and have taught a workshop or tutored in most of the general science classes I have taken. Genetics is my specialty and my strongest subject. I have well-rounded Chemistry knowledge feeling comfortable teaching most of the topics covered at the college-level general chemistry classes. In Biology, I focus on topics related to genetics, cell biology, general plant and animal biology.

My minors in bioinformatics and computer science have given me a strong foundation in computer science. I have taken a different route into this subject due to not being a core computer science major but that has allowed me to have different insights and understand the fundamentals in a way I can teach to others. This has been strengthened by me tutoring students in computer programming assisting them through the problems and explaining the principles behind the language semantics. I am comfortable in teaching Scheme (DrRacket), Python, and Java computer programming languages.
