"I have taught and tutored in the sciences, more heavily in biology and the veterinary sciences, from middle school through university level. I am experienced in determining how students learn best and am able to tailor tutoring sessions accordingly. I have worked as a biomedical researcher and currently do relief work as a Registered Veterinary Technician, both of which help in keeping me up-to-date with current scientific and veterinary medical information and practices. I enjoy helping students learn new material and watching them experience those "AHA!" moments. I hold an M.S. in Biology, with an undergraduate minor in Psychology, along with current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in two states. I also have a very strong background in mathematics, much of which I use daily both in the lab and veterinary clinics.

During my graduate studies, my focus was on infectious disease and molecular microbiology. I have performed research both in biomedical and ecological laboratories and have research experience both in industry and academia. Courses I have taken include Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Ecology, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Genetics, Herpetology, Immunology, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Microbial Pathogenesis, Modeling and Simulations in Life Sciences, Molecular and Immunological Techniques, Parasitology, Vector-Borne Diseases, Abnormal Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Physiological Psychology.

I am certified as a Club Level Coach by USATT and have coached several people in this sport, from teenagers and up.
