"Hi, I’m Nicole! I love helping students understand biology at all levels, from high school to graduate courses. I hold a Master of Science in Biological Sciences and have over eight years of research experience in molecular and cellular biology, ecology, and environmental studies. I have completed extensive STEM coursework, including Intro to Biology, Cell Biology, Ecology & Evolution, Genetics, Organic Chemistry, Scientific Writing & Integrity, and Biostatistics. I have also served as a teaching assistant for cell biology and microbiology labs, mentoring undergraduate students in understanding course material, providing feedback on assignments, assisting with lab techniques, data interpretation, report writing, and preparing presentations and posters. In recognition of my mentorship, I received the Diversity and Inclusion Mentoring Award in 2023, and I speak Polish, which allows me to support students in their preferred language if needed.
I am happy to help with biology, lab reports, essays, AP papers, scientific writing, presentations, and posters. For example, I helped a high school student structure and refine their AP English paper, and they passed, earning college credit while building confidence and academic writing skills. My tutoring approach is interactive, patient, and tailored to each student’s needs, breaking down complex topics into manageable steps and using real-world examples. My goal is to help students succeed academically while developing critical thinking, clear communication, and a lasting interest in biology and the life sciences." less...
