"I’m Patricia! I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I have received A+ grades in anatomy and physiology, general biology, chemistry, and various other science classes such as neurobiology, genetics, and ecology. I am extremely passionate about biological and health sciences and love to share this passion with others. As someone currently enrolled in an accelerated nursing (ABSN) program, I have experience in taking the TEAS exam, with a 99th percentile overall score and a 100% on the math section. I have also received a 97th percentile score on the SAT math section.

For the past three years, I have been a volunteer EMT and certified BLS and CPR instructor. I've taught other college students within my organization, helping them understand the anatomical and physiological background required to perform their roles. I have experience primarily in one-on-one instruction.

Throughout my experiences as both an instructor and a student, I have realized that everyone learns differently. Some people learn best when concepts are directly explained to them, whereas others prefer to be guided by suggestions to solve problems themselves. With my individualized approach, I adapt to a student in a way that works best for them. However, the best method in almost any situation is doing practice problems. Being able to apply knowledge to an actual scenario and explain why each answer is either correct or incorrect is a very powerful learning tool. I enjoy helping students work through problems and develop a deeper understanding as to why the answer is the answer, rather than just memorizing information. Seeing how topics are tested and how they interrelate to one another creates a much stronger foundation for test-taking.
