"Hello! I’m Ketsia, a first-year Biomedical PhD student with a strong background in math and science. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and was on the Dean’s List for several semesters. As part of my PhD training, I work daily with problem-solving, data analysis, and scientific concepts, and explaining complex material clearly is a core part of my education. I enjoy helping students understand challenging topics and build confidence in math and science through clear, step-by-step instruction.
I have experience voluntarily tutoring high school math and chemistry for a year while in high school, and more recently voluntarily tutoring elementary and middle school students in math and science. These experiences taught me how to adapt explanations to different ages and learning styles. I have also trained others on analytical and laboratory techniques as a research technician, strengthening my ability to teach concepts step by step and check for understanding. My tutoring style is patient, structured, and supportive. I begin by demonstrating a concept or method, then work through examples together, and finally guide students as they practice independently. This approach helps students build confidence while ensuring they truly understand the material. I focus on the reasoning behind each step so students learn to solve problems on their own, and I always encourage questions.
I offer flexible online tutoring in math and science for students from elementary school through high school, covering subjects from basic math to algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, high school biology, and general chemistry. Whether a student needs extra support, help catching up, or wants to strengthen their foundation in math or science, I’m excited to help them succeed! Please feel free to reach out to learn more or schedule a lesson." less...
