"Hello! My name is Ely, and I’m a recent graduate from Florida International University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. I've always had a passion for mathematics and teaching, which inspired me to begin tutoring in May 2020, at the onset of the pandemic. Witnessing how students struggled with remote learning, especially in math, motivated me to provide engaging and supportive online tutoring sessions. My students often shared how our interactive lessons significantly improved their understanding, confidence, and ultimately, their grades. Seeing my students progress and succeed has been deeply rewarding and fuels my passion for tutoring.
Over the past four years, I've tutored students across a broad range of mathematical subjects including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Calculus I, and Calculus II. In May 2022, I expanded my tutoring experience by joining Mathnasium, where I formally taught students from grades 1 through 12. At Mathnasium, I mastered the Socratic questioning method, an approach that guides students toward independently discovering answers, enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This experience has refined my ability to effectively engage students of all ages and varying learning styles, particularly in one-on-one tutoring sessions.
My tutoring philosophy is patient, student-focused, and tailored to each learner's unique needs. Whether your child is struggling with math concepts or looking to excel further, I dedicate myself to making math understandable, enjoyable, and rewarding. My goal is to build my students' confidence and help them achieve academic success. I would be delighted to support your child's learning journey and look forward to working together." less...
