"Hi! I'm Ilana! I am a graduate of Binghamton University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and Graphic Design. I also earned my Master’s degree in Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. I am currently a Biology and Research teacher at Bronx Science, where I bring my passion for science into the classroom every day.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students build confidence and independence in their learning. I want every student I work with to feel so comfortable with the material that they no longer need a tutor! I focus exclusively on Biology—whether that’s Introductory Biology, the Biology Regents, or AP Biology.

I have extensive tutoring experience, including private tutoring, and over 400 hours of tutoring through Wyzant. In my sessions, I use visuals, practice problems, and clear explanations to guide students through challenging concepts. Because I’m both a teacher and a researcher with published work in ecology, I am able to connect students to the subject in meaningful ways and inspire them to see the bigger picture of biology." less...
