"Hi! My name is Aidan and I'm a recent graduate of Brown University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Computer Science and Comparative Literature (English and French). I am a local graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, where I took advanced, college-level classes in science and mathematics. I started tutoring in high school after having a great experience with a physics tutor who really helped build my confidence after doing poorly in the class (eventually, I got a 5 on the exam!). That experience inspired me to become a tutor myself, and I’ve found it to be incredibly rewarding ever since. I love seeing students grow, whether it’s finally understanding a tough concept or gaining more confidence in their abilities. Helping others succeed is what keeps me passionate about tutoring.
I spent 3 years in college as a computer science undergraduate teaching assistant, holding one-on-one office hours to help fellow university students with assignments and gain confidence in their problem solving skills. I also have 1 year of experience as a mathematics tutor for a local company, where I taught a broad range of subjects, spanning elementary-school math to college-level calculus (sometimes even juggling students doing both at the same time!). I also have experience privately tutoring, in topics including AP Computer Science and French.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help the student succeed, but also to gain confidence in their own abilities in whatever topic they are struggling with. I enjoy working with students of any age, and I am happy to work with the student to personalize my tutoring so they can get the most out of each session. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
