"My name is Juniper, but I also go by June. I Studied American Culture and History at Brown University, and received a balanced education encompassing Math, Sciences, and Music in addition to the English and History coursework related to my degree. As a result, I feel comfortable tutoring most subjects at the high school level, especially material for AP and IB courses, Writing-based courses like English and History, and the Sciences.

At Brown, the classes I enjoyed most were the ones where professors encouraged us to connect what we were learning to our own lives outside the classroom. This experience shapes my approach to tutoring: I encourage all my students to understand the material in whatever way makes sense for them, and consider it my responsibility to uncover that connection when it is not yet there.

As for my qualifications, I have 5 years of experience with in-classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring. In addition to volunteering for 3 years as an after-school tutor at Hope High School in all subject areas, I have been a TA for a course on the history and practice of making electronic music, and have taught arithmetic and geometry to elementary and middle school students. I also enjoy perfecting personal statements and essays, and have helped friends get into their graduate schools of choice by helping them refine their writing and find their voice.
