"If you want real experience, as well as someone who will instill courage and confidence in your child, I am the right choice. I have worked as a teacher or tutor since 2005, and I know how to help students learn.

I am a firm believer in developing a friendly relationship with a student when I begin working with them. "They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care," is an axiom I live by. I employ my creativity and ability to engage students when I present a lesson. I use a method of "I do, we do, you do," to make sure the student is mastering what we learn, as we progress through the material. Most importantly, I use positive feedback, and I make the learning fun as we go. This instills high levels of confidence in the student, so that they are not intimidated by anything we are learning. I also teach successful metacognitive skills during our process.

My most recent full-time experience has been as an Academic Tutor for the school system here in Pasco County, Florida. I worked for three years at an elementary school, tutoring students in math, reading, and writing. For the past 12 months I have been working as a freelance tutor, working with students ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade on their reading, writing, math and science skills. As a freelancer, I worked with another agency, but I can provide great references from my clients.

I am certified to teach in the state of Florida. I am certified in Elementary Ed, ESE (Special Needs), Art, ESL, and Middle Grades. I also draw and paint, and have a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Art and Design. My education in visual communication helps me greatly when I am teaching my students.
