"I started my programming journey in 2012 at Mohave Community College in Bullhead City, Arizona. In my first semester, I took Intro to Visual Basic, and that's when I discovered that I love programming. Then in the next two semesters I took Intro to C#, then I took Intro to C++. After two years at community college, I earned my Certificate of Proficiency in Programming and Game Development. That's when I knew that I wanted to have a career in programming and hopefully make video games at some point. I'm currently working on my Bachelor's in Game Programming at the Academy of Art University, where I've spent the last 3 years focusing on C++. I've helped several students with their assignments during my time here, including classmates.

My favorite part of tutoring is seeing that light bulb moment students have when they finally understand what they're trying to work on. I make an effort to impart my knowledge and enjoy helping students learn. I'm not satisfied until the student I'm helping is satisfied. Recently, I helped one student think outside the box by providing them abstract examples of how they can change their work to fit the assignment requirements. It's not enough to simply solve the problem of the assignment if I'm not able to help students take those lessons and apply them elsewhere.

I have programming experience with data structures, algorithms, procedural content generation, file reading and writing, rendering libraries, and making game engines. In my time at the Academy, I have made 2 game engines, and nearly ever class has had a final project where I make a game. In the fall semester of 2021, I worked on a team of 3 people to make Frogger and a first person dungeon crawler inspired by Bard's Tale and Legend of Grimrock.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about anything. There are no stupid questions, and nobody is stupid for asking a question. We were all in that position at one point." less...
