"Hi I'm Cyan! I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics at the University of California, Berkeley. I have always been a problem-solver, fascinated by the “why” behind everyday and otherworldly phenomena. As a STEM student, I understand firsthand that math and physics can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when concepts do not click right away. I also know that approaching teachers can feel intimidating. I always appreciated welcoming teachers whose genuine passion for both the subject and teaching made challenging material feel more manageable. As a tutor, I aim to create a personable and encouraging learning environment where students are comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I specialize in middle school, high school, and AP-level math and physics, including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics C (Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism). I earned a score of 5 on AP Calculus BC and both AP Physics C exams, so I am very familiar with the rigor, pacing, and exam strategies required for success in these courses. I also have over a year of experience providing one-on-one online tutoring to middle school students in pre-algebra, algebra, and physics, and I enjoy helping students build a strong foundation that prepares them for advanced coursework.
My tutoring style is personalized and supportive. I emphasize visual explanations and intuitive reasoning to help students understand the why behind concepts, not just how to solve problems. I plan lessons to each student’s learning style, interests, and pace, whether the goal is strengthening core concepts or preparing for AP exams.
My goal is for each student to leave sessions feeling supported, confident, and more clear on the material. I welcome input from both students and parents, and I am easy to reach and respond quickly! I am happy to help with homework support, concept review, AP exam prep, and even college prep. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson—I’d love to help!" less...
