"Hi, I’m Rafael, a designer based in Los Angeles. I help beginners and creative professionals learn new tools or refresh their design skills. My sessions focus on clear, step-by-step guidance that makes creative software easier to use and more enjoyable to learn.

I studied graphic design in Switzerland and have worked in design and motion graphics for 20+ years, including teaching Typography and Motion at UCLA’s Design Media Arts department. My goal is to make creative work approachable—whether you’re designing, drawing, or exploring new visual ideas.

In Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere), you’ll learn to create with confidence—from layouts and image adjustments to motion, editing, and exporting. With Canva, we cover how to make clean, effective visuals for work, school, or personal projects.

For 3D beginners, I also teach the basics of 3D printing—slicing, filament choices, and modeling simple shapes with CAD. In drawing, I help you move beyond copying photos and instead express your own way of seeing through color, composition, and storytelling. In design fundamentals, we focus on layout, typography, and balance so your work looks clear, cohesive, and professional.

My sessions are best suited for beginners to intermediate learners. For advanced or project-based help, feel free to message me first.

• In-person: $90/hr
