As a tutor for WyzAnt since 2010, I specialize in math (from prealgebra to calculus), English, and test prep, having earned perfect scores myself on math and writing on the SAT and on all sections of the GRE. I work hard to use humor, carefully devised questions, and concise explanations, motivating students to take the lead. I tailor my approach to each student’s needs, determining the specific skills that will help that student raise their scores. In addition to training key concepts step by step, I teach students tricks to tackle questions more easily and quickly so they can perform their very best on test day.

I love watching the lightbulb go on when something "clicks" for a student. I’ve helped students raise their SAT scores by over 400 points, and students who do the work usually improve by 100 points or more.

My work as a classroom teacher informs my approach to tutoring. Having earned three Master’s degrees, I expect to finish my PhD in English literature at Boston University in 2025. I’ve devised and taught numerous college English courses with stellar student reviews, as well as teaching middle- and high-school classes. I’ve also completed a two-year postgraduate training program at a psychology institute. This training helps me attend warmly to students’ emotional needs and accommodate students with learning differences.

I've celebrated triumphs alongside students ranging from middle school to adult, guiding study sessions not only in my specialties, but also in a wide range of subjects including college application essays, sciences, foreign languages, study skills, and more.
