"When I took my first part-time tutoring job in high school, I never expected to fall in love with teaching. From the first student I taught to read and add, my outlook completely changed - tutoring was no longer just a part time job, but a passion of mine. I learned that helping kids achieve goals and reach their fullest potential is extraordinarily rewarding. Ever since, I've sought out numerous tutoring positions. I tutored my peers in high school as a private tutor and was a Physics teaching assistant at UNC Chapel Hill. I have almost a decade worth of experience tutoring students from ages three to twenty-three. I have tutored in subjects as basic as counting numbers to differential equations and their applications in physics and chemistry. The most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing students of all ages learn and grow in their confidence of the subject matter!

I specialize in Math, Physics and Chemistry. I work well with high school and college level work including algebra, geometry and calculus. I was a Chemistry major as well as a Physics TA at UNC. More concentrated subjects such as Electricity and Magnetism or Organic Chemistry are within the scope of my tutoring ability. I also have a lot of experience tutoring test preparation for the SAT, ACT and GRE; these tests can have a major impact on a student's future! The first thing I learned as a tutor was to assess the last concept a student has mastered and to build from there. For each student, I will prepare a tailored lesson plan for the student to master before moving on to the next major concept. I provide assessments at least every two sessions or every two weeks depending on the frequency of sessions. It is vital to provide feedback every session about how that lesson went as well as homework for the student to complete to demonstrate mastery.
