"EXPERIENCE

My experience ranges from corporate training for a major airline to being a training provider for social services organizations, to currently teaching in the Arlington ISD.

I have taught people from all walks of life and respect and enjoy the diversity of my students. I am an avowed life long learner and am passionate about teaching and seeing my students achieve that moment of clarity at the moment understanding takes hold.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that optimal learning happens when there is a strong desire to learn; the stronger that desire is, the more learning that will take place. As a tutor, I continually strive to help the student a) see the intrinsic value and benefits of learning and b) to shed to old "because I have to do it" mentality. I always strive to be a "sparkmaster", lighting the fire of motivated learning in my students.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Have realistic expectations. Just like with most things in life, a little anticipation and preparation goes a long way. Can you be successful if you have a test TOMORROW and want to "cram" today. Probably, not.

If you had ONE WEEK to test would tutoring help you? A little perhaps. But what really makes the difference is to take the long view of your studies. Be a “horizon viewer” and plan for what you know will be coming in the near future. Tutoring works best as a reinforcement to your present, or just learned, knowledge. By tutoring EARLY and OFTEN you will maximize your grade and, more importantly, your understanding.

CONCLUSION
