"I have worked as a chemistry teacher for the past 9 years at my local high school teaching freshmen up to seniors in several different science classes. I graduated from Marshall University in 2016 with my BA in Secondary Education with a certification in chemistry. This laid the foundation for me to start teaching chemistry, as well as other science classes at my local high school. Through this experience I have learned from students what approaches work and did not work to help them with the learning process. Which is how I have changed a adapted my teaching style in the classroom and in my tutoring sessions with students.

Through the past nine years I have also been tutoring students in all of my science classes as well as helping students in their math classes of prealgebra, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. I have worked with some 7th and 8th grade students helping them with their math classes and concepts, as well as a handful of elementary students with math and science concepts.

Overall, I love having the chance to teach and tutor students with challenging and difficult concepts. Helping students to learn and master concepts and seeing the light blub flip on for them is always a joyful and exciting moment for me! I am a person that believes students can learn and I have learned myself to adapt on the fly and come up with a different approach if the first one isn't working. I have learned that the approach I like taking in tutoring and teaching is showing students were we are going to go and then build them up to that level a step at a time.
