"I hold a professional background in college advising and student support, with experience guiding high school students through academic planning, skill development, and college readiness. My work centers on helping students build strong habits, organize complex workloads, and communicate clearly through writing, reflection, and goal-setting.
My educational and professional background includes serving as a College Advisor at a college-preparatory high school, as well as working as an adjunct college instructor at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), where I teach undergraduate-level coursework.
In my tutoring and teaching experience, I work directly with high school students in one-on-one and small-group settings on course planning, academic strategy, time management, and building sustainable systems that improve performance over time. I also support students with writing tasks connected to the college process, including brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revision planning, and strengthening clarity and voice. In my college teaching role, I teach in a formal classroom environment with structured instruction, clear learning targets, and feedback-driven improvement.
My tutoring style is structured and student-centered. I focus on assessing a student’s current skill level and gaps, setting a clear goal and timeline, breaking work into manageable steps, and using practice, check-ins, and specific feedback to build consistency, especially for writing and revision.
I primarily support high school students in grades 9–12 in both school-based and 1:1 settings, and I also have experience teaching college students through NKU. Based on this background, I’m well-positioned to tutor study skills and academic organization (planning, prioritizing, and study systems), writing support (structure, clarity, drafting, and revision cycles), and college readiness and application-related writing/planning as aligned with platform guidelines." less...
