I am an undergraduate student who is studying to be an Elementary Ed teacher. I have worked with students in both individual and small group settings on a variety of coursework. I have 60+ hours of time spent in school settings and during this time often would work with students on ELA (English language arts), mathematics, and reading coursework. This is defined as anything such as projects, and homework, as a tutor I am open to whatever assignment students need assistance with. A prime example is an autobiography for some first-grade students based off readings

I have taken courses in elementary mathematics and have worked with students in math homework and classwork. I was not especially inclined towards math and had some trouble learning the material in my elementary years. I had a parent who sat down with me for a number of years and helped me work through the problem. I have come out of it the other side with an appreciation for the subject, as well as it's endless applications in life. This is largely why I enjoy helping students with this subject because I have been there myself. I understand the feelings associated with the situation (frustration, for example) and can not only help the student with the mathematic problem but how they can work through the social and emotional aspects of the learning experience.

During my 60+ hours of time spent in classrooms, a majority of my experience with students is in reading and ELA subject matter. This was actually a subject I personally thrived in as a student and found enjoyment in, I hope to help those who don't feel as comfortable with the material and lessen this.
