"I am a fully trained, certified and experienced teacher. I have experience teaching English and French at all levels from first grade through college. I also have experience teaching core subjects in English and French at the elementary level. I did a three-year concurrent education program at York University, which involved three year-long placements at different levels: first-grade French Immersion, seventh-grade core French, and ninth and tenth-grade French.

After Graduation, I taught English grades four to twelve at a small school, then second-grade French Immersion, then several years of fifth-grade French immersion/first-grade French math, followed by remedial college English and level one and two college French. I tutored English and French part-time while studying. I completed a BA in English with a French minor and received a bilingual certificate by completing classes in both languages. I taught for five years before relocating and completing an MA in English literature, and then worked for two years teaching at Seneca college. I was offered a permanent teaching position at the last elementary school (there was an overabundance of teachers at that time/place, so many teachers were on contracts for five to seven years before being made permanent), but I had already committed to returning home and going back to college. After moving to the United States from Canada, I did not return to teaching because I have had to move quite often due to my husband's work.

My teaching style is quite dynamic. I use games, songs, and visual aids to help students retain knowledge, even at the college level, and the feedback from students and parents was overwhelmingly positive. I have no difficulty in making accommodations for different needs and learning styles and have done so very successfully in the classroom.
