"Hi there! I'm John. I have over 15 years of teaching experience across the disciplines of English as a Second Language (ESL), health and fitness, and acting and improvisation. My expertise is working with adults, college students, and high school students. I hold a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia, and am currently a (remote) graduate student at the University of Florida, where I'm pursuing an M.S. in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology.

On the ESL front I am an ITA-certified ESL teacher and have been tutoring students for the past year. My lessons are fun and interactive and I primarily use the PPP (Presentation–Practice–Production) and Communicative methods. I focus on practical speaking and listening exercises you can use immediately, and vocabulary and pronunciation training relevant to your professional or academic needs.

I am an a NCCA-accredited, NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and am underway with coursework to become a Registered Yoga Teacher. I have several years of experience working with clients and excel equally well with seasoned athletes or first timers just getting started on their health and fitness journey.

I teach Acting for Improvisers / Improv for Actors at the Pack Theater in Hollywood, and leverage my extensive stage experience to help get your out of your head and into your power as a performer.
