"I’m passionate about teaching because I have been blessed with so many opportunities to learn and explore, knowledge that I look forward to passing on to my students. I love reading, writing, and the English language. This naturally extents itself to teaching English as a second language. I grew up multilingual. Other than English I speak Swedish, Farsi, and German.

I have four certifications from the International TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Academy. This includes 150 hours of coursework and 20 hours of practicum. I specialize in tutoring English for Business professionals and clients who want to improve their English for fun or traveling. I also tutor in-person with English Language Learners (ELL) through Literacy Suffolk on Long Island.

My approach to teaching (and learning) is fun and creative. You’ll never be bored! Reading, writing, listening, and speaking exercises are interactive, engaging, and relevant to your life and particular goals. My experience is teaching (high school and up) one-on-one, online, as well as in classroom settings with 15+ students.

When I am not teaching, I run a business focusing on film exhibition and teaching filmmaking, editing, and animation. I have two advanced certificates from Molloy College, Long Island — one in Nonprofit Management and the other in Fundraising and Development.

I earned a BFA in Film and Television production from New York University and spent 13 years working in New York City as a producer, director, writer, and editor. I received an Academy Award nomination in film editing for the HBO documentary “Lenny Bruce: Swear to Tell the Truth” narrated by Robert DeNiro. Currently, I am working towards my MFA in English Literature and Creative Writing at Stony Brook University, Long Island.

My hobbies are reading, writing, traveling, gardening, and all kinds of outdoor activities such as bicycling, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, skiing, and hiking.
