"Hi, I'm Courtney! I am a passionate and driven certified elementary school teacher. I currently teach Fifth Grade, but I have experience with other grade levels. Teaching is my passion, and helping students to understand concepts that they have been struggling with is one of my favorite feelings. I graduated Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University with my Bachelors Degree in English and American Literature. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching at Fairleigh. As a certified teacher, I am knowledgeable about the New Jersey Learning Standards and I am dedicated to student success. For each tutoring session, I create a lesson plan and find different ways to introduce the topic.

I have experience tutoring students of different grade levels, but I have primarily worked with fifth grade students in the classroom and in small group. I have experience tutoring both English and Mathematics, but my true strength and passion is English/Language Arts. Reading and Writing is my strong suit, but I am also a competent math tutor as well. During my student teaching experience, I worked in small guided reading groups every single week working on different skills. I also worked with small math groups for guided mathematics. Working with students in a one on one setting or a small group allows me to individualize the learning for each student.

My true passion is literature and writing skills, but I am also a competent vocabulary tutor. My bachelors degree is in English and American Literature, and I am truly passionate about inspiring students to love reading and to love writing.
