"Hi, I’m Lizzy! I’m a certified high school science teacher with experience teaching biology, chemistry, and math in both public school classrooms and one-on-one settings. I hold a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry and a M.S. in Education from Oregon State University. I’m passionate about helping middle school, high school, and college students achieve their academic goals in STEM.

I have extensive tutoring experience in high school biology, chemistry, IB, and AP science courses, as well as college-level subjects like genetics, evolution, cell biology, biochemistry, ecology, and chemistry. I also tutor Algebra I and II, helping students build strong foundational skills through clear, approachable explanations tailored to their learning style.

In addition to tutoring, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in OSU’s Biochemistry and Biophysics Department, supporting courses in biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology through small-group instruction, office hours, and assignment feedback. I also spent two years as a Research Assistant in a fungal genetics lab, where I gained hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and presented my work at an international conference.
