I am an experienced, certified Math teacher. First certified in 2006, in both Mathematics 5-9 and Mathematics 6-12. I began my teaching career as a middle school Algebra teacher. I transitioned to high school, where I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II and Precalculus. I am still certified in those subjects and grade levels through 2030.

I have experience with students of all ages and abilities. My educational background is rooted in STEM, and I have earned a bachelor’s degree as well as a few master’s degrees in science fields that included extensive Mathematics. However, I have always naturally gravitated towards and enjoyed Mathematics.

I approach Math instruction by going back to and building upon the basics. I like to teach and tutor one-on-one because it allows me to better gauge the individual needs of my students and fill in gaps that might be hindering their progress. I try to use simple language and real-world examples when I teach students because I strongly believe that students learn better and retain the information when it is relatable. I love when students have “AHA!” moments and excel in areas that they previously struggled in.
