"Hi, I’m Yadira! I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and completed the teachHOUSTON program. The teachHOUSTON program trained me to teach math in clear and engaging ways for middle and high school students, and I earned my certification to teach secondary math through the program.

I’m currently a math teacher at Pasadena Memorial High School, where I’ve taught Algebra 1 and Algebraic Reasoning. This year, I’m teaching Algebraic Reasoning, which includes both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 concepts. I have four years of teaching experience and have worked with students in grades 9–12. I enjoy helping students build confidence in math by breaking down problems into simple, clear steps that make learning easier to understand. After guided practice, I encourage independent work to reinforce understanding. I’ve also provided one-on-one tutoring for students who needed extra support.
