"Hi, I'm Alden! For the last three years, I have taught Middle and High School Math as a licensed teacher in Vermont, developing my expertise with teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra to a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds. I have always loved learning and expanding my knowledge of the world, and in my involvement in education I want to help others to achieve their goals in doing the same. I have tutored students K-12 online, in addition to having taught Algebra with middle school students for two summers. Through tutoring and teaching, I have found a way to share my love of math and connect with people over difficult topics.

My teaching and tutoring experience is augmented by my strong understanding of the subject matter and making connections across multiple domains of math. I understand that success with math hinges on hard work, and with good instruction it is extremely rewarding. In tutoring sessions, I work to understand the relevant background knowledge of my students and what they are hoping to achieve, and then I support their goals with practice and using relevant real-world problem examples.
